While this is something of a hot topic at the moment, and has been for a few years now, why is there not more tolerance between the different religions of this world? Why can we not all agree that we all have different traditions we all have different beliefs and we are all different in the way we live out lives. Is it really so difficult?
When you think of all the time, money and lives which have been lost due to religious issues, surely these elements could have been put to better use? The vast majority of us just want to live our lives peacefully and be left to get on with looking after our friends and family, so why is there so much aggression in the world?
This is a question which even the best brains in the world cannot really answer, the continuous friction and aggression between certain elements of the world, and ultimately what each party has to gain. While the UK has for some time been a very well integrated country where different religions, different nationalities and different beliefs have always been respected, we are starting to see problems at grass roots level with each group of people determined to defend their way of life, beliefs, etc.
It would be interesting to see a poll of the UK population and find out the number of people who would rather this friction was left to one side and everybody lived peacefully together. We only ever seem to hear from the so called leaders of various factions, but do the people really have a voice? Are their views being correctly reported and conveyed to the outside world?
There is no reason why different religions, different nationalities and different groups of society cannot live together in peace, but what will spark this march back to the days of years gone by remains to be seen.
